When Inspiration Lacks

The well of inspiration seems to have run dry in recent weeks, months really.
To push anything creative, inspiring, artful out my being is a seemingly daunting task.
A blog post.
A graphic.
A painting.
A song.

All of it.

While I've been racking my brain to solve this, honestly, I have no other answer but to simply keep doing art. Keep painting clouds even when they look like pitiful plastered blobs over and over. Keep doodling. Keep rearranging shapes on a computer screen.

While I'd like to believe artistic ingenuity is always easy and flows naturally without thought, that is far from the truth.
It is work.
Work, no matter the beauty it eventually produces, is still work.
Work is good, but work is difficult sometimes.

We were created by a Creator.
And we were created to do good creative, fruitful work.

So even when creative endeavors do not come with ease,
I'm learning to push and process through the failings.

To keep doing art. To keep doing the work.

Because, as in all of life, it's through the hard, the frustrating, we are refined and something of beauty springs to life.

And there is always something beautiful about finding the art we have been seeking, especially by surprise, in the midst of the work we have committed to doing. Glad to see you back! :)

"Ceasing to strive." Beautiful. It speaks so well of Christ's rest. :)

In all areas of life we have those times that we just don't "feel it," but to continue on and not give up builds character and allows us to trust outside of our own capabilities.

and as long as we don't give up when we're pursuing....

Ceasing to strive! Such words of wisdom! And love your ending "Because, as in all of life, it's through the hard, the frustrating, we are refined and something of beauty springs to life."
